Precision TIR Optics

Instead of relying on a conventional reflector or simple lens, the SS3 uses a custom-engineered Total Internal Reflection (TIR) optic to collect light from the LED and precisely direct it into a functional beam pattern.

The molded TIR optic serves as both the optic and main lens, helping reduce internal light loss and unwanted glare while maximizing usable output.

Five Functional Beam Patterns

Choose the SS3 beam pattern that best matches how and where you drive.

SAE Driving: An 18x8-degree beam designed to supplement high beams while providing focused forward illumination at higher speeds. When properly installed as a pair and aimed according to applicable regulations, the white Driving pattern meets SAE J581 requirements for a Driving/Auxiliary High Beam Light.

SAE Fog: Uses Diode Dynamics’ FineLine optic to produce a wide 80-degree field of view. When properly installed and aimed, the Fog pattern meets SAE J583 requirements for fog-lamp use.

Flood: Provides a wide 60x60-degree spread for uniform illumination. It’s well suited for backup lighting, trailers, worksites, and low-speed applications.

Combo/Driving: Produces a smooth 80x30-degree spread combining strong forward illumination with a wide field of view, making it a versatile option for varying speeds and terrain.

Spot: Creates a concentrated 6-degree beam for long-distance illumination. The SS3 Sport Spot produces up to 151,000 candela and can project usable illumination approximately half a mile at ¼ lux.

Sport, Pro or Max

Choose from three SS3 performance levels to match your lighting requirements and budget.

Sport: High-intensity LED performance and an excellent choice for everyday auxiliary lighting.

Pro: Steps up output with approximately double the total power of the Sport version.

Max: Uses advanced automotive LED emitters for maximum power and intensity, making it the performance-focused option in the SS3 lineup.

All three versions combine high-intensity LED emitters with Diode Dynamics TIR optics for focused, usable illumination.

White or Selective Yellow

Stage Series SS3 LED Pods are available with two output colors:

• 6000K Cool White – a crisp white output designed to complement many factory LED lighting systems.
• 3000K Selective Yellow – provides a distinctive appearance and high contrast in poor-weather conditions.

Interchangeable replacement lenses also allow you to change the color or beam pattern of your SS3 Pods later.

Amber or Red Backlighting

Add a distinctive accent to your lighting setup with the SS3’s integrated backlight, available in amber or red.

Rather than using a small indicator LED, the backlight illuminates the TIR optic itself for a modern appearance when the main beam isn’t being used. The included wiring allows the backlight to be connected to your desired vehicle function.

Built for Demanding Conditions

Stage Series lighting is tested for long-term operation in temperatures ranging from -40°F to 185°F, as well as vibration, moisture intrusion, and corrosion.

Each SS3 features an integrated DT-type Deutsch-style connector and includes a 6-inch bare-lead pigtail, giving you flexibility when choosing your installation and wiring setup.
