Upgrade Your Existing Kuat DEK Roof Rack

The Kuat DEK Upgrade Kit is designed for owners who already have a non-lit Kuat DEK rack and want to add integrated Diode Dynamics auxiliary lighting.

Rather than piecing together universal brackets, lights, and wiring, this kit provides the components required to integrate compatible Stage Series lighting directly with your DEK setup.

Choose Your LED Light Bar

Two distinct lighting styles are available.

SS5 CrossLink LED Lightbar

For a bold off-road appearance, the SS5 CrossLink configuration combines seven or eight Stage Series SS5 LED pods into one linked light bar, depending on your rack application.

The SS5 Driving optic produces a 30° x 20° beam pattern, balancing downrange projection with enough width for useful visibility ahead of the vehicle.

Stage Series LED Lightbar

For a cleaner, lower-profile appearance, choose a Stage Series LED light bar.

Depending on your Kuat DEK rack size, the upgrade kit uses an SS40 or SS50 Stage Series LED Lightbar for seamless integration across the front of the rack.

Combo/Driving Beam Pattern

Stage Series light bar configurations use Diode Dynamics’ Combo/Driving optic, engineered to combine useful distance and foreground coverage into one smooth beam.

Instead of creating separate hotspots from multiple beam patterns, carefully designed pillow optics blend the output into an even 60° x 30° spread.

This provides useful downrange visibility while maintaining broad illumination closer to the vehicle—ideal for nighttime trail driving and other off-road environments.

Fully Illuminated Backlighting

Every available lighting configuration includes integrated backlighting that illuminates the TIR optics when the main beam isn’t being used.

Backlight functionality varies by configuration.

White Stage Series: Features an amber-only backlight without a startup sequence.

Dual-Color Stage Series: Features amber outer-segment backlighting with a selectable multicolor backlight on the inner segments, plus a dynamic startup sequence.

SS5 CrossLink: Features selectable multicolor backlighting with a choice of eight colors.

Compatible multicolor configurations allow you to change the backlight color simply by cycling the power—no separate programming controller is required.

White or Dual-Color Stage Series Lighting

Stage Series light bars are available in two main output configurations.

White: Produces a crisp 6000K cool white main beam that pairs well with modern factory LED lighting.

Dual-Color: Combines cool white inner segments with selective yellow outer segments for additional lighting flexibility.

SmartSelect Dual-Color Control

Dual-Color Stage Series light bars feature Diode Dynamics SmartSelect technology, allowing multiple output configurations without additional switches or complicated wiring.

By cycling the main-beam power, you can select:

• Inner segments only
• Outer segments only
• Full light bar

This functionality is programmed directly into the light bar for a cleaner installation.

Sport or Pro Stage Series Performance

Stage Series light bar configurations are offered in two performance levels.

Sport provides strong output and excellent value for recreational off-road driving, camping, and overland builds.

Pro delivers a noticeable increase in power and light output for drivers looking for greater nighttime performance.

Both versions use automotive-grade LED emitters and TIR optics for controlled, efficient illumination.
