Take auxiliary lighting to the next level with the Diode Dynamics SS5 5” LED Pods. Part of the Stage Series lineup, the Diode Dynamics SS5 LED Pods combines ultra-high-intensity output, custom-engineered TIR optics, selectable backlighting, and heavy-duty construction in a versatile 5-inch package.
Available in Sport and Pro power levels with multiple beam patterns, the SS5 can be configured for everything from long-distance illumination to wide-area lighting.

High-Efficiency TIR Optics
Unlike conventional reflector-based auxiliary lights, the SS5 uses custom-engineered Total Internal Reflection (TIR) optics to collect and precisely direct light where it’s needed.
The TIR optic also serves as the SS5’s main lens, helping reduce the light loss associated with conventional designs that place a separate outer lens in front of the optic. The result is highly focused, efficient illumination with reduced glare.
Eight Selectable Backlight Colors
Give your lighting setup a distinctive appearance with an integrated selectable backlight. The SS5 offers eight backlight color options, allowing you to change the accent color simply by cycling the power on and off—no separate programming controller required.
The backlight illuminates the TIR optic itself for a distinctive appearance when the main beam isn’t in use.
CrossLink Lightbar Compatibility
Diode Dynamics CrossLink technology allows multiple SS5 pods to be connected to create a custom lightbar.
A single-piece CNC aluminum linking system provides a rigid yet adjustable connection, supporting both straight and curved configurations. Integrated threaded mounting points mean the standard SS5 pod is ready for a CrossLink setup without requiring a special pod version.
Four Functional Beam Patterns
Choose the beam pattern that best matches your application:
Driving: A focused 30x20-degree spread designed for strong downrange illumination while maintaining useful width.
Combo: Combines Driving and Flood optics for a 70x30-degree overall pattern, providing both distance and surrounding illumination.
Flood: A wide 70x55-degree pattern designed for uniform illumination at lower speeds, worksites, trailers, and other wide-area applications.
Spot: A highly concentrated beam designed to project light far into the distance. The SS5 Sport Spot can produce up to 406,000 candela.
Sport or Pro Output
Choose between two SS5 power levels.
Sport: Uses nine high-intensity LEDs with 40 watts of total power.
Pro: Increases total power to 90 watts for substantially greater raw light output.
Both versions use high-intensity LED emitters and Diode Dynamics TIR optics for precise, functional illumination.
White or Selective Yellow
SS5 LED Pods are available in two main output colors:
- 6000K Cool White – crisp white illumination that complements many factory LED lighting systems.
- 3000K Selective Yellow – high-contrast yellow illumination well suited to poor-weather applications and distinctive vehicle builds.
Replacement lenses are also available, allowing you to change the beam pattern or output color later.
Built for Demanding Conditions
Stage Series lighting is tested for long-term operation from -40°F to 185°F, along with vibration, moisture intrusion, and corrosion testing performed to SAE standards.
Each SS5 pod features an integrated waterproof DT-style Deutsch connector and includes a 6-inch bare-lead pigtail for installation.
