This vehicle-specific kit allows you to mount two or four Diode Dynamics Stage Series 5-inch SS5 LED Pods behind the factory grille using CAD-designed brackets and existing factory mounting points. No cutting or drilling is required, and the installation is designed to retain compatibility with Toyota Safety Sense where equipped.

For 2014-2019 4Runners without Toyota Safety Sense, the crossbar also provides the option to add a fifth SS5 pod for even more auxiliary illumination.

Stealth Behind-the-Grille Fitment

Designed specifically for the fifth-generation Toyota 4Runner, the SS5 Stealth Grille Kit positions the LED pods discreetly behind the factory grille.

Application-specific brackets were CAD-designed to attach to existing factory bumper mounting locations. This means you can add powerful off-road lighting without cutting or drilling into your 4Runner.

The factory grille remains in place for a clean, integrated appearance.

Two or Four SS5 Pod Configurations

Choose the amount of lighting that best suits your 4Runner.

The included crossbar features multiple mounting positions and supports either two or four SS5 LED Pods while maintaining clearance for Toyota Safety Sense.

Owners of 2014-2019 Toyota 4Runners without Toyota Safety Sense can also mount an additional fifth SS5 pod in the center of the crossbar.

This flexible design makes it easy to build anything from a clean two-light setup to a high-output five-pod configuration on compatible vehicles.

Toyota Safety Sense Compatible

One of the biggest advantages of this 4Runner-specific design is its ability to provide substantial auxiliary lighting without interfering with the Toyota Safety Sense system.

Both the two-pod and four-pod configurations are designed around the factory safety equipment.

Note: The optional center fifth-pod position is intended only for applicable 2014-2019 4Runners that are not equipped with Toyota Safety Sense.

High-Performance SS5 LED Pods

Stage Series SS5 LED Pods combine high-intensity LED emitters with Diode Dynamics’ custom-engineered TIR (Total Internal Reflection) optics.

Rather than relying on a basic reflector, the TIR optical system collects and precisely directs LED output into a purpose-designed beam pattern. This creates controlled, usable illumination for demanding trail and auxiliary-lighting applications.

Driving or Combo Beam Patterns

Driving

The Driving pattern produces a focused 30° x 20° spread designed to provide useful distance while retaining enough width for visibility at speed.

It’s a strong choice for drivers who prioritize downrange illumination on trails and remote roads.

The SS5 Driving pattern is too bright to qualify as an SAE Auxiliary High Beam and should be used according to applicable regulations.

Combo

The Combo pattern blends Driving and Flood optics for versatile off-road illumination.

A focused 30° x 20° driving section provides distance, while additional flood optics expand the overall output to approximately 70° x 30°.

For most trail and general off-road builds, Combo provides an excellent balance of distance and peripheral illumination.

White or Selective Yellow Output

Choose between two popular Stage Series output colors.

6000K Cool White provides crisp white illumination that complements modern automotive LED lighting.

3000K Selective Yellow provides a distinctive high-contrast appearance that’s popular for dust, fog, rain, snow, and off-road conditions.

Selectable Backlight

White SS5 kits feature a unique selectable backlight with eight color options. Changing colors is simple and does not require a separate programming controller—cycle the power to select the desired backlight color.

The backlight illuminates the TIR optic itself, creating a distinctive appearance when the main beam isn’t being used.

Due to the yellow lens, Yellow SS5 kits are equipped with an Amber backlight only.

Sport or Pro Power Levels

Choose between two SS5 performance levels.

Sport: Uses nine high-intensity LEDs with approximately 40W total power per pod, providing strong auxiliary output at an accessible price point.

Pro: Increases total power to approximately 90W per pod for substantially greater output and intensity.

Both configurations use Stage Series TIR optics for controlled beam performance.

Auxiliary Switch Compatibility

The included heavy-duty wiring harness provides multiple control options.

A toggle-switch adapter allows installation with a three-way switch. For vehicles equipped with an aftermarket auxiliary switch bank, the included aux-switch adapter can connect the lighting system to compatible switch panels.

Two switch circuits are used when controlling both functions independently: one for the main beam and another for the backlight.

Built for Off-Road Use

The mounting system uses durable powder-coated steel brackets engineered to securely support the SS5 pods in demanding conditions.

The brackets have been evaluated using load simulation to reduce unwanted light movement and vibration while driving off-road.

Stage Series lighting is also tested for long-term operation from -40°F to 185°F, along with vibration, moisture intrusion, and corrosion testing to SAE standards.
